We didn’t want a generic training course because we have such a diverse team all at varying skill levels but who all strive to continuously improve. It’s important for us to keep adapting and growing together with our sectors in an industry that is forever changing. So, we wanted to upskill our workforce and give them personalised learning experiences to support every one of us in achieving our goals and excelling in our careers. We wanted our training programme to be customised to the very specific needs of V7. We also wanted it to be flexible and available at the time that our team require external support – and Butterell Consulting is just that! This programme has been a really motivating experience in our office and everyone is more efficient with their time, from trainees to management. Here is what our team think about their tailor-made plan.

- Sophie makes me think about my desk more strategically with good insight as to where my pipeline is coming from
- I wholeheartedly enjoyed the workshop that she delivered when I first started, I thought it was interactive and insightful

- I took a lot from it and have already started to use some of her techniques on the phone which has resulted in me getting more leads and more interest in jobs

- The training was very helpful in understanding the different objections someone will have. I’ve also expanded my knowledge on sales calls and feel I know properly understand the call structure and how we can apply it to every stage

- She’s also been great at helping me structure new starter’s induction process, and the feedback from the junior members of my team has always been excellent

The team at V7 are great to work with for several reasons:
Firstly, the work I do with the more Senior members of staff ( leaders in the business ) is challenging, but for all the right reasons. Because they want to be challenged and they challenge me. They are incredibly keen to develop and learn – not something you find all the time with experienced recruiters. They don’t have ego’s, ( despite being very successful billers ) they just genuinely want to be the best they can and develop and grow with the business.
I am working with these guys in an ongoing coaching capacity, and I am delighted to say that they are embracing the work we are doing and seeing the benefits, not only in their own businesses, but within their teams.
This mature and driven mentality amongst the leaders obviously feeds down to the newer recruits, who are also hungry for training and development.
Secondly, I love the fact that V7 are not afraid to bring new blood into the industry. The mindset being we all had to start somewhere. This obviously has pros and cons, but we have a very thorough and constantly developing onboarding programme and we give extensive training both at desk and ‘classroom style’ with personal development plans and consistent actions to work on for improvement and progression. Everybody gets time the time they need to be the best they can!
Thirdly – Feedback is critical and I think that a large part of the success of our ongoing training and coaching strategy is the transparent and open dialogue between Steve, Natalie and myself as well as the emerging leaders. It’s a very open environment. Everybody receives and gives feedback willingly and as such we are able to dispense with any time wasting and make sure we are all working together to get the most out of everyone and to ensure that everyone feels supported and heard and genuinely motivated about the growth and future of the business.
Lastly, I would say that working with V7 is both enjoyable and rewarding! Everyone in the business has the right attitude to work. They are there to work hard, and they do, but they also have fun. They have a relaxed working environment, which in some businesses would create a less driven workplace. Not here. They use that culture to their benefit. They support each other, collaborate, and show initiative all the time.
