V7 Recruitment Raise Over £10,000 For Two Manchester Charities!

874 Mile Challenge - Final

We’re proud to announce that we have raised £10,131  for two local Manchester-based charities, The Christies and The Springhill Hospice by taking on, and completing, The 874 Mile Challenge.

At the beginning of October, the whole team at V7 Recruitment set themselves the colossal challenge of cycling the length of the UK in 4 days, from Land’s End to John O’Groats, to raise money for two Manchester charities.

With the challenge totaling 874 miles this was no mean feat… but one in which the whole team were dedicated to achieving.

Here’s a recap of each day:

Day 1

🚴‍♂️ Alex smashed out a massive 20km in 20 minutes
🚴‍♂️ Steven coming to the rescue fixing broken bike peddles mid-cycle
🚴‍♂️ The water gun making a much-needed afternoon appearance to refresh the team mid-cycle
🚴‍♂️ Daisy’s broken wrist not slowing her down and being one of the fastest cyclists
🚴‍♂️ Sam setting the cycling pace from the FIRST cycle of the day…

…resulting in the day being EXTREMLEY competitive.

Day 2

Well… what a day!

Having changed our plans after the success of Monday to not only virtually cycle the length of the UK one way, but also back down again (𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘢 1,748 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦), yesterday involved:

🚴‍♂️ Claire and her bump smashing out over 6km in 10 minutes!
🚴‍♂️ Billy coming back from 2 weeks in sunny Bali and straight onto the bikes
🚴‍♂️ The fan being everyone’s best friend~
🚴‍♂️ Alex continuing to achieve 3 more 10k’s in 10 minutes… 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘦.
🚴‍♂️ Daisy cycling over 50km in one day!
🚴‍♂️ We made it up to John O’Groats…

…And have now turned around and begun our journey back to Land’s End!

Day 3

After a day’s break from cycling yesterday, the team came back in full force (𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘢 𝘧𝘦𝘸 𝘴𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘴𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘴) and ready to hit the bikes HARD

🚴‍♂️ We made karaoke cycling a thing… 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘙𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘯 𝘒𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦.
🚴‍♂️ We totaled over £8.5k in donations.
🚴‍♂️ Daisy made it her mission to overtake Alex in the distance covered in 1 day.
🚴‍♂️ Motivational quotes were hidden around the office for World Mental Health Day and to give the team a boost

And now we’re onto the final day with less than 200 miles to go!

Day 4

1,750 MILES COMPLETE

After 4 days of non-stop cycling, we have finally reached our target of cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats… and back again!

What began as a 874 Mile Challenge quickly became a 1,748 Mile Challenge due to the competitive nature of our recruiters…
